Overview:

Stroke prevention remains a crucial element of caring for the growing number of patients with atrial fibrillation. Left atrial appendage closure is now an approved stroke prevention strategy in selected AF patients. This webinar offers an up-to-date overview of this procedure, with a special focus on appropriate patient selection.

Objectives:

  • Understand the role of LAA closure for stroke prevention in patients with NVAF
  • Appraise the current literature on percutaneous LAA closure
  • Appreciate the remaining challenges and the future directions of LAA closure
