COURSE DESCRIPTION
An interactive program addressing cardiovascular disease in pregnancy, a major cause of maternal mortality. Through expert presentations and multidisciplinary discussion, we will cover evidence-based strategies for risk assessment and management of conditions such as SCAD, cardiomyopathy, and hypertensive disorders, plus emerging innovations like AI and big data. This program takes place the evening before the American College of Cardiology Annual Meeting.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this symposium, participants should be able to:

  • recognize the importance of specialized care in cardiovascular obstetrics and the role of the pregnancy heart team;
  • identify long-term cardiovascular risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs); and,
  • assess management of select cardiovascular disorders during pregnancy.
