To provide a comprehensive online educational course intended to improve the basic understanding of preoperative, intra-operative, and postoperative care of the cardiovascular surgical patient for practice and professional development of a nurse practitioners and physician assistants/associates. 

Course Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Identify necessary preoperative planning including testing and medication considerations 
• Describe specific cardiovascular pathology and subsequent indications for surgery 
• Summarize post operative clinical management in cardiovascular surgery 
• Review post-operative pharmacology management of cardiovascular surgical patients
