Due to Mayo Clinic COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, we are required to limit registration for live in-person course participation baed on meeting space. 

CURRENT COVID-19 GUIDELINES FOR LIVE IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE
Mayo Clinic is closely monitoring COVID-19 prevalence in accordance with CDC, public health and other relevant guidelines. Attendees are asked to comply with all live course conference guidelines. There are two additional guidelines you will need to plan for in your upcoming travel to the live component or if you are on the wait list for live component of a Mayo Clinic Cardiovascular CME conference:

  • Attendees must attest that they completed COVID-19 testing of any kind and received a negative test result within 72 hours or less of the first published date of the course OR that a positive COVID-19 test result of any kind was received within the past 90 days, it has been at least 20 days since COVID-19 infection, and they are currently asymptomatic.

  • Attendees must attest that they will comply with all safety requirements and that they understand the inherent risk associated with being in large groups of people.

This course delivers a comprehensive review of the diagnosis and management of heart failure across its multiple stages. Heart failure is a prevalent and costly disease causing debilitating symptoms and excess mortality. While cardiac subspecialists provide essential testing and treatment at various stages of heart failure care, the majority of patient management is handled by primary care providers. A clinical format will highlight the practice dilemmas and key management strategies essential to enhance the attendees’ confidence in caring for these challenging patients.

  • Recognize the spectrum of signs and symptoms suspicious for heart failure
  • Describe typical diagnostic testing essential for the diagnosis and management of patients with heart failure
  • Apply appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic strategies for patients across the spectrum of heart failure
  • Describe when referral for advanced heart failure therapies is indicated
  • Demonstrate complex decision-making when renal and/or right heart failure complicate heart failure management

INTENDED AUDIENCE
This course is appropriate for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, cardiologists, and primary care providers interested in an update on heart failure.
