Arrhythmias and the Heart: A Cardiovascular Update

AIRPORT
The Kona International Airport (KOA) is located 23 miles from the Fairmont Orchid. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes.
 

PARKING
Self parking is included in the daily resort fee.  Valet parking available for an additional fee. 

Maunaloa Volcano – the island of Hawaiʻi

At approximately 11:30 p.m. HST this evening, November 27, an eruption began in Moku‘āweoweo, the summit caldera of Maunaloa, inside Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. At this time, lava flows are contained within the summit area and are not threatening downslope communities.  USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory and Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense are monitoring the situation. Lava activity remains confined to the summit. At this time, there is no indication of lava exiting the summit nor of lava migrating down the southwest rift zone.

UPDATE: As of 6:30 a.m. on November, 28, Hawaiian Volcano Observatory confirms that lava has exited Maunaloa summit and can be seen on the northeast flank. The northeast flank is not populated and does not pose a threat to any communities at this time.
