Optional Workshop Sessions
Joint Injection: Includes overview of inclusion and exclusion criteria for basic joint injections. Participants will learn and practice techniques of three types of landmark guided joint injections: trochanteric bursa, knee, and shoulder. Injection techniques will be taught on human cadavers.
(Workshop Full) Biopsy Workshop: Upon completion, the learner will be able to perform shave, punch, and excisional biopsies. Basic suturing skills are recommended as suturing will not be taught in this course. Biopsy techniques will be taught using pig's feet.
(Workshop Full) Wound Care Workshop: Upon completion of the workshop, the learner will be able to perform advance wound assessments. Participants will gain an understanding of the different types of wound products available to manage wounds. Wound debridement techniques will be taught using simulated wounds on pig's feet.
