Optional Workshop Sessions
Joint Injection: Includes overview of inclusion and exclusion criteria for basic joint injections. Participants will learn and practice techniques of three types of landmark guided joint injections: trochanteric bursa, knee, and shoulder. Injection techniques will be taught on human cadavers.
Suturing Workshop: This course is intended for beginners and those wishing to refresh their suturing skills. Upon completion of the course, the learner will be able to describe basic skin anatomy; describe basic wound assessment; discuss suture, needle, and instrument selection; and practice different forms of suturing techniques including simple suture, vertical mattress, horizontal mattress, and running suture.
Biopsy Workshop: After completing this course, you will be able to perform shave, punch, and excisional biopsies. Basic suturing skills are recommended for this course or enrollment in Suturing Workshop. Suturing will not be taught in this course.
