Overview:
The speakers with review the different etiologies of mitral regurgitation, the natural history and consequences of mitral regurgitation, and the impact of mitral regurgitation on patients’ outcomes. Management of mitral regurgitation will be reviewed, with focus on the role of mitral valve repair, including minimally invasive surgery, in mitral regurgitation.
Objectives:
- Summarize the different etiologies of mitral regurgitation
- Recognize the indications and timing for the treatment of mitral regurgitation
- Determine who is a candidate for mitral valve repair surgery, including minimally invasive surgery
- Review the outcomes of mitral valve repair
Target Audience
It is a topic of interest to cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, oncologists, general internists, radiologists, and all groups of providers including trainees, NP/PA’s, and physicians.
