COURSE DESCRIPTION
This purpose of this symposium is to highlight the accomplishments of the first century of vascular medicine at Mayo Clinic while enerating excitement for future innovations in vascular specialties.  The topics include innovations in endovascular technology for acute aortic arch syndromes, artificial intelligence in the vascular practice, the future of anticoagulation therapy, new technologies in vascular disease imaging and evaluation, stem cell therapy in the interventional suite, and new approaches to vascular malformations. Through didactic and interactive sessions, this symposium will emphasize the multidisciplinary approach to vascular disease at Mayo Clinic. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Review the history of vascular medicine and vascular specialty practices at Mayo Clinic;
  • Identify future developments in vascular testing and imaging;
  • Describe applications of automated intelligence in the vascular practice;
  • Discuss current and future directions in the management of acute aortic arch syndrome presentations;
  • Review endovascular interventions and aortic endograft device future developments;
  • Discuss genetic aortopathies and current management recommendations;
  • Review vascular malformation treatment strategies;
  • Compare current with future anticoagulation therapy strategies;
  • Review large vessel vasculitis presentations and current management techniques;
  • Describe the application of stem cell therapy in the interventional suite; and,
  • Discuss the latest recommendations for carotid artery stenosis management
