Overview

Atrial Fibrillation is a common and growing problem. Atrial fibrillation is commonly treated with rate control and anticoagulation, but there is an opportunity to better educate patients on preventive strategies. We will focus on both the cardiac and non-cardiac modifiable risk factors for atrial fibrillation and develop preventive treatment plans.

Objectives

  • Define the modifiable cardiac risk factors for atrial fibrillation
  • Describe the modifiable non-cardiac risk factors for atrial fibrillation
  • Identify implementation strategies to educate patients, in preventive therapies for atrial fibrillation
