Novel Anticoagulants for Venous Thromboembolism

Registration Closed
Price: $40-$50

Overview

Venous thromboembolism is a major source of morbidity and mortality in our country with more than 300,000 new cases occurring each year. In recent years, a number of variables have been established to improve the rates of VTE in our country: heightened awareness, identification of patients at risk, aggressive VTE prophylaxis campaigns, improved diagnostic methods and treatment strategies.  Despite these accomplishments, the incidence of VTE has not improved and has indeed increased at a rate of 3% annually. Hospital associated VTE accounts for a full 25% of this incidence. Most of the events occur following hospital discharge. This lecture will provide the learner with a concise overview of the VTE prophylaxis with a framework of how to approach VTE prophylaxis in a busy daily hospital practice.

NO CREDIT OFFERED. Available on DVD/Streaming Video or Streaming Video only.
