Overview:

This webinar is designed as a case-based program focusing on cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) lead extraction. Mayo Clinic Rochester Heart Rhythm Services will organize each session, present interesting and challenging cases, and partake in audience discussion. Mayo Clinic Arizona and Florida, and other national and international lead extraction experts will be invited for the case presentations and discussions. CIED lead extraction remains a major part of daily practice for cardiologists, electrophysiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, and non-physician caregivers. This program will give updates on lead extraction indications, techniques, advanced technologies, and clinical outcomes to improve our clinical practice and care in patients that we see in our daily practice. We plan 3-4 virtual event sessions each year.

Objectives:

• Learn current lead extraction indications, how to plan and prepare the lead extraction, and select lead extraction equipment and tools.

• Understand multiple lead extraction techniques and how to troubleshoot the challenges during the extraction
• Discuss the decision making during the lead extraction.

Target Audience
It is a topic of interest to cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, oncologists, general internists, radiologists, and all groups of providers including trainees, NP/PA’s, and physicians.
