Cardiac stress testing provides important diagnostic and prognostic information in the evaluation and management of patients with known or suspected coronary artery disease. Commonly used stress testing modalities include exercise electrocardiography, exercise or pharmacologic myocardial perfusion imaging, exercise or pharmacologic echocardiography, and pharmacologic cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. This presentation will review the indications for stress testing and focus on choosing between the types of stress modalities.
