This tutorial reviews several complex and more rare forms of congenital heart disease:  complete transposition of the great arteries (d-TGA); Ebstein anomaly, Tetralogy of Fallot, univentricular hearts and Eisenmenger syndrome.  Attention to anatomy, physiology of these lesions, presentation in adulthood, common residua and sequela and novel treatment modalities are discussed.

Objectives

  • Identify the hemodynamic issues that impact adults with various complex congenital heart diseases
  • Review long-term outcome of various complex congenital heart diseases after surgical repair
  • Report the impact of novel valve repair techniques for patients with complex congenital heart diseases
