WEBINAR: Coronary Revascularization in Older Patients Including Left Main PCI

WEBINAR: Coronary Revascularization in Older Patients Including Left Main PCI

Guest: S. Allen Luis, MBBS, PhD
Host: Mandeep Singh, MD

Overview:

Older adults represent an increasing proportion of patients referred for complex PCI. They are the highest risk group with considerable procedural mortality and morbidity. In addition, in this population, presentation symptoms may differ, the diagnostic accuracy of the available tests may decline and the risk assessment tools may need to revised to incorporate geriatric-related syndromes. The treatment modalities that work in the younger population may not have the same efficacy in the older population. These day-to-day revascularization challenges in the diagnosis and management of this increasingly prevalent population will be highlighted in this talk.

 Learning objectives:

1. To learn about role of shared decision-making and unique geriatric syndromes in coronary revascularization of older adults.
2. To understand the challenges in diagnosis and revascularization treatment.
3. To become familiar with the current literature on coronary revascularization in older adults.
